Workshop Description

This workshop looks at discussing how we represent gender in the classroom in an inclusive environment. Workshop also looks at addressing how we as educators may be influenced by our ideas of gender roles and how they become portrayed in the classroom, discussing ways to make our classrooms inclusive for all children, regardless of gender. 

PLEASE NOTE: This self-paced workshop includes a recording from our Online Summit in June 2023. You will have access to the workshop immediately after registering for it, and be able to obtain a Completion Certificate after watching the entire workshop.

Audience: This workshop is geared toward supporting educators who work with children and are interested in learning about gender and inclusion.

About the Instructor

ECE, Workshop Facilitator, College Instructor Ashleigh Davis

Ashleigh Davies is an early childhood educator with her bachelors in ECCE and has worked with children in a variety of roles over the last several years. Ashleigh has worked as a post-secondary instructor, leading ECE post-basic courses, and currently is the CAPC Coordinator and Parent Community Liaison with North Shore Community Resources. She runs several workshops throughout BC and in each of her workshops she brings her passion for inclusivity, social justice, and advocating for the importance of early childhood education & educators.

    This is a self paced course, you can go through the material at any time and the material will be available as long as you need it.

  • Will the instructor be able to help me?

    Absolutely. The instructors will usually respond within 24-48 hours of being contacted.

    To take the workshop you need a device with a screen, audio and internet.

  • Can I get a receipt or confirmation?

    Once you register you will see a confirmation webpage and you will receive a receipt email. If you need a more detailed receipt please contact the instructor directly.

  • Can I get a refund or credit after purchase?

    No refund or credit is provided once the workshop is purchased. It is up to the participant to go through the material at their own pace. If you are unsatisfied with the material please contact the instructor directly.

  • Will I get a certificate of completion?

    Certificates of completion will be available automatically upon completion of the workshop. We keep a record of all who register for this workshop. For ECE registry purposes, the instructor can verify the progress and completion of each participant in this course. Remember to download your certificate and any resources should this course ever be taken down.

  • Will this workshop be accepted by the ECE registry in my province or state?

    Ultimately it is up to the participant to ensure this workshop would be accepted by the ECE authority in their province or state. Each certificate of completion will include our contact information so that we can support educators to get their professional development hours. PLEASE NOTE: You must complete all the materials in full and answer all questions so that we can ethically verify your certificate with any ECE registry.
