Workshop Description

Preschoolers thrive when given time, space, and place to think, imagine, and express themselves. This webinar is for educators who want to deepen their understanding of how open-ended materials like loose parts can foster creativity, problem-solving and encourage pro-social play. In this workshop, we will explore the role of the educator as a co-constructor of knowledge and think about ways to scaffold play and storytelling using loose parts.

In this webinar, participants will:

● Learn about the theory behind loose parts play and think deeply about the intentionality and invitations to explore loose parts.

● Explore how loose parts play supports creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration in preschoolers.

● Think about the role of the educator as a co-creator, collaborator, and co-constructor of knowledge in scaffolding imaginative play.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a pre-recorded workshop that can be taken in a self-paced (on-demand) format.

Certificates of completion are available upon completion.
